What It's About
The Truman Show is a 1998 American satirical science fiction drama film directed by Peter Weir, produced by Scott Rudin, Andrew Niccol, Edward S. Feldman, and Adam Schroeder, and written by Niccol. The film stars Jim Carrey as Truman Burbank, a man who grew up living an ordinary life that—unbeknownst to him—is a television show broadcast to a massive audience around the clock.
Truman's entire life is broadcast through thousands of hidden cameras 24 hours a day, with every moment captured and transmitted to a global audience. The show is orchestrated by its creator, Christof (played by Ed Harris), and all the people in Truman's life, including his wife and best friend, are actors. The film chronicles Truman's growing discovery of his true situation and his desperate attempt to break free from the set.
My Review
"If they had just chipped him in the neck, then we wouldn't have gotten lost, and the show wouldn't have ended."
